Free Social Share Card & Open Graph Image Generator

Design a share card in seconds and download it as a crisp 1200×630 PNG for Facebook, LinkedIn, X and more.

  • No watermark
  • No sign-up
  • Runs in your browser

An Open Graph (OG) image is the preview picture that appears when someone shares your link on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Slack, Discord or WhatsApp. If you do not set one, the platform picks an image on its own or shows a plain text link, and a plain link is easy to scroll past. This free OG image generator lets you design a clean 1200×630 share card in your browser. Type a headline, add a category tag and your brand name, choose your colors, and download a PNG with no watermark and no sign-up. Nothing is uploaded, so there is no account to create and nothing stored on our side. Use the card as your post’s social image, then check how it looks with the platform’s own preview tool before you publish.

Why Custom Open Graph Images Matter for Blogs

When a link is shared, the preview image, title and description are all a reader sees before deciding whether to click. A custom card does three jobs. It makes your post recognizable in a busy feed, it tells the reader what the post is about before they open it, and it keeps your branding consistent on every platform. Without one, the platform may pull a random image from the page, a logo, or nothing at all. Publishers often report better click-through from custom share images, but the size of the gain depends on your audience and your headline, so compare a few of your own posts instead of relying on a headline number.

A few habits make a card easier to read at thumbnail size:

    • Keep the headline short. Around 60 characters or fewer stays large enough to read on a phone.
    • Use strong contrast between text and background, such as light text on a dark color or the reverse.
    • Say one thing. A tag line and a brand name are enough around the headline.
    • Keep text away from the edges, because some apps trim the sides. This generator leaves an 80-pixel margin on every side.

Recommended Dimensions for Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn Cards

The generator exports 1200×630 pixels (about a 1.91:1 ratio), the size most guides name as the safe default for every major platform. Platforms update their requirements from time to time, so treat the table as a starting point and confirm in each platform’s own preview tool.

    PlatformCommonly recommended sizeNotes
Facebook1200×630 pxImages smaller than about 600×315 may show as a small thumbnail.
LinkedIn1200×627 px1200×630 displays the same in practice.
X (Twitter)1200×630 px worksYour page needs the summary_large_image card type to show the large preview.
Slack and Discord1200×630 pxBoth read the standard og:image tag.

Whatever the platform, the image address in your og:image tag must be a full https URL, and a smaller file loads and previews more reliably. A flat-color PNG from this tool is usually far below the platform limits. On a WordPress site, you can upload the card and set it as the post’s social image in your SEO plugin’s social settings, or use it as the featured image.

OG Image Generator: Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Open Graph image generator really free?

Yes. There is no watermark, no sign-up and no limit on how many cards you make.

Should I use PNG or JPG for share images?

PNG keeps text and flat colors sharp, which suits cards like these. JPG can be smaller for photographs. This tool downloads a PNG. If you need a smaller file, run it through an image optimizer or convert it to JPG or WebP.

Who owns the card I make, and can I use it commercially?

The tool adds no watermark, logo or license terms to your card, and it uses no third-party artwork. You are responsible for the words you type. Do not put someone else’s trademarked logo or copyrighted text on a card without permission.

Why does the old image still show after I changed it?

Platforms cache link previews. Run the page through Facebook’s Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn’s Post Inspector to fetch the new image, and expect X and chat apps to refresh on their own schedule.

    Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. The card is drawn on your device with the HTML5 canvas, and the download is created in your browser.

Will the card look the same on every device?

The preview and the downloaded PNG match each other, but the text is drawn with your device’s built-in fonts, so the typeface can differ slightly between Windows, Mac and Android.
